DIY Renew Indonesian Work Permit and Passport

Hi,
I will share the process on how to renew work permit yourself without going through Employment agency.

You should receive the renewal letter from MOM 5 weeks before your helper's Work Permit expires. Below are the following steps for renewal:

1) Indonesian passport validity is 5years. Work  permit renewal is 2yrs or based on passport expiry (whichever is earlier). Tip: to ensure you get the most of out your work permit expiry, renew passport first (if it's going to expire soon).

2)  If you have renewed your helper's passport, update the details via WPOL.

3) You need to buy medical insurance with a coverage of at least $15,000 per year for inpatient care and day surgery during your helper’s stay in Singapore. I got mine from Etiqa insurance being the cheapest and with more benefits. There's 30% promo and extra 5% discount with promo code FEBTEIF (for use on Fridays) or PF00090708.

4) Update medical insurance details via WPOL. Please note that medical insurance details will take 1 working day for update before you can renew the Work Permit.

5) Renew online and pay $30 fees.

6) The new work permit card will be delivered within 4 working days. The old card should be returned upon reception of the new pass at the following address:
Work Pass Division
Ministry of Manpower
18 Havelock Road
Singapore 059764

Renewal of Indonesian Passport (https://www.kemlu.go.id/singapore/en/immigration-services/Pages/Passport-Renewal.aspx)
1) Go to Indonesian Embassy from Mon-Fri, 9am-12pm.
2)  Get ready following documents so that processing will be faster:
- completed PERDIM 11 form

  • Old passport and one copy of old passport (first and the last page)
  • Copy of employer's ID card
  • Work permit and 1 copy of work permit

  • Tip:
    - arrive early as the queue start to form. They will start admitting around 9.05am. I avoided Mon-Wed as I think it will be busy as with most government organisations.
    - get ready 2 cards to exchange entry pass. Can be Ezlink card, Passion Card or Link Card
    - Dress appropriately no shorts, bermudas, sleeveless or revealing clothes. Do not wear slippers.
    - Once you exchange the pass, take a queue # from the screening station. They will redirect you to level 1.
    - You will need to sign a Working Agreement at level 2, this service is free. Please take note that minimum pay is $550 with no off days. You will need to compensate your helper $21/day for each off day. The officer may try to negotiate for higher pay on behalf of your helper. You should sort out the new salary and benefits with your helper before this.
     - You will also need to purchase the Indonesian Performance bond @$74.90 (incl GST) from AIG/ Liberty Insurance on the spot. More info https://www.mom.gov.sg/faq/indonesian-fdw-performance-bond/where-can-i-purchase-the-indonesian-embassy-performance-bond-guarantee-and-what-should-i-look-out-for
    - After that your helper can make the KPIS card at the same time. Your helper will need this KPIS card when she exit Indonesia.
    - Ensure that you receive the stamped and certified Working Agreement in both Bahasa Indonesia and English before leaving.
    - You will then need to pay $38 for the passport and they will give you a collection slip. Collection is 3days later from 3-5pm.
    - Collection was a breeze and very organised. Whole process took less than 5mins.

Hope you find this post useful.

    Love,
    Sherlyn
